Jennifer C. Franklin, Ph.D., MACP
Dr. Jennifer C. Franklin (formerly Dr. Jennifer C. Kaplan) earned her Master in Counseling Psychology (MACP) and her Ph.D. at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Her work with clients integrates talk therapy with mindfulness training, with or without meditation. Having studied Buddhist philosophy and practiced meditation and various forms of yoga since 1998, her approach combines the humanistic-existential, the cognitive-behavioral, and the transpersonal.
A creative and compassionate therapist, Dr. Franklin strives to create an individualized journey of self-discovery for each of her clients. Because she believes that every individual is much more than any problem or symptom, therapy does not focus solely the problem. Instead, Dr. Franklin works with the whole person, guiding clients through a collaborative mind-body-spirit exploration of self. This process leads to:
- increased self-awareness
- accelerated personal growth
- sustainable long-term change
- increased resilience
- increased self-empowerment
- greater inner peace
- greater ability to heal oneself in the future
While pursuing her Ph.D., Dr. Franklin researched the psychology and spirituality of acting, fame, and creativity. She also trained in psychodrama and Hakomi. To the degree a client is interested in experiential, integrative therapy, Dr. Franklin weaves in psychodrama, Gestalt, creative expression, dreamwork, Hakomi, and authentic-movement methods. |
